Family friendly things to do in the RGV

Looking for something to do with the kids? This page lists upcoming events across the Rio Grande Valley that work well for families. That means all ages are welcome, the timing is reasonable for kids, and there is something for them to see or do.

Farmers markets are an easy weekend pick, with snacks, music and room to walk. In the fall you will find festivals and Dia de los Muertos events. In November and December the list fills up with tree lightings, Christmas parades, light shows and holiday markets in McAllen, Edinburg, Brownsville, Harlingen and South Padre Island.

We mark events family friendly based on what the organizer posts, so check the event page for details like cost, parking and stroller access. Many events here are free. Look for the Free badge. If you know a great family event we are missing, send it in and we will add it.
